Duty-Free Shopping Guide: Part 2

Designer prices are no joke. Nonetheless, It makes sense to justify the price of the purchase: it’s trendy, well-made and beautiful – wrong. There are people that would give up an arm and a leg for a designer item. Thankfully, there are less extreme methods of obtaining a Gucci bag whilst keeping your extremities intact – and that does not mean selling your kidneys. If you’ve come across my post: Duty-free Shopping Guide: Part 1 you’re aware that being frugal and shopping luxuries can be done simultaneously. So if you want bomb timeless products at a discount – you’re in the right place.

Perfume

Perfume is an airport classic as it makes a great gift – for yourself or any loved one. Most women have already discovered their signature fragrance and duty-free shopping would serve as a time to stock up on it. For those of you that aren’t as settled this would be your opportunity to survey the field and make your pick – without breaking the bank. To make the purchasing process easier: test out samples weeks before your flight and become familiar with your preferences and then pick up your favourite before you fly. It’s always a good idea to be aware of the brands offered in the duty-free section: this can be done by checking out the airport’s website. However, the most common perfume brands available include: Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Bvlgari, Chloe, DNKY, Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Givenchy, Gucci, Guerlain, Hugo Boss, Issey Miyake, Juicy Couture, Lancome, Lacoste, L’Occitane, Michael Kors, Paco Rabanne, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.

Cosmetics

This is by far my favourite section. There are some brilliant high-end products that are worth every penny. Obviously, everyone’s preferences and needs are different but luckily most of these products are universal. However, I’d still do my own research before making a definitive decision.

High Impact Waterproof Mascara. This mascara is hypoallergenic, thus great for sensitive eyes, and makes your lashes look long and fluffy. It also comes in the shade brown.

Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. This makeup remover is legendary. Everyone raves about. It takes all of your makeup off in one go without leaving traces of residue. The ‘solid balm’ changes into a ‘silky oil’ when you apply it to your face.

Soleil Tan De Chanel. This is a cream bronzer that looks good on everyone. It will last you a lifetime as you only need to use the smallest amount. Everyone wants it. Everyone loves it. You can’t go wrong with this product.

Rouge Volupte Tint-in-Balm. If you’re looking for something that’s a lip balm and lipstick in one – look no further. If your fond of a natural makeup look these lipsticks give your lips colour in a popsicle stain kind of way.

Addict Lip Maximizer Lip-Gloss. There’s nothing more girly than a glossy lip. Dior’s lip gloss is the glossiest you’ll find and the packaging isn’t bad on the eyes either.

Fashion & Accessories

Although Marc Jacobs does have some great makeup products like his Coconut Primer and Coconut Gel Highlighter he also has lovely handbags. You can also pick up little trinkets, shoes, wallets and jewellery.

Princeton Leather Slipper. If you see a mule on anyone’s feet it’s probably from Gucci. The mule is a comfortable yet chic way of rocking a casual look.

Wide leather belt with Double G. If your a fashion enthusiast this Gucci belt is a necessity. It’s worn by every model and fashion blogger – plus it can go with any outfit.

Gucci also has the coolest and innovative watches which make for a practical fashion accessory.

Their handbags are hip yet elegant. Need I say more?
